Wood Scene Edit

Image
Wood Scenes Edits woodScene_chaseScene_shot3 After the ending scene, this was my next scene to tackle. I found that our filming could have been better to incorporate the masked figure better into the scenes. This was a struggle initially which ended up in lessened the quality and the footage length but I think the end results were sufficient enough. The main issue was keeping the camera as still as possible on the tripod and taking separate shots of the masked figure and Dylan and a blank scene without either. I also think this was due to a lack of preparation and vision as the ghost effect was not our original intention. I initially attempted to mask the characters out in Premiere Pro like the ending scene but found the running too intricate for that style of masking. Instead I used the roto-scoping feature in After Effects. I had to manually fix the issues, checking each frame in order to get the characters running on their own. I used the red background to also check for detail...

Chase Scene Flicker Experiments

Image
https://youtu.be/Znu_h7SJ48M https://youtu.be/6n2qcorvzEw I did some experimenting in Premier Pro with this clip from the chase scene. I first changed around the speed and opacity settings to try make it appear that Darragh's character was in Dylans head, and also using flickering and strobing effect to show that he is not really there.

Short Chase Scene Edit

Image
https://youtu.be/V3m61-x6QnU For this short clip, I took two separate scenes, one of the character running, and then of the demon like figure coming in to shot. I masked around the demon figure to make it look like they were in the same shot.

I edited this sequence to give us an idea of how the chase narrative will play out in the video.

Typography on Video

This is the green screen keyed over my previous footage. I also added more freeze frames and sped up the text, and keyframed the opacity and the start and end for a fade in and fade out feeling.

Green Screen Titles

For this, I traced a path over a text layer using the pen tool and added a trim path, then I added an end keyframe for 0% and one for 100%, and set the text layer track mat to Alpha Matte. Then I copied and pasted those two layers, removed the keyframes and changed the colour to pink. I keyframed the opacity to come in and out to make it feel like a flickering neon light behind it. This one I just used a Bad TV effect on a title that I drew. Then I added a freeze frame to the start and end so that it feels like it flickers.  This is both together
