I took the concept in a more literal sense with a three pronged narrative direction. Three situations where the main character was isolated, lonely and confused. Towards the end of the song, they would each find their way and make it through their troubles. The granny would be alone at the start, sad and miserable. Then she would start reaching out to her family and gradually she would realise the value of her time with family and friends. The second would be with a lone person in the woods not being able to find their way out. Eventually they calm down and start to find clues to getting out of the forest. The third situation would be a student with ramping up collection of books that he needs to study. He starts to see the value of going out and enjoying himself while keeping organised and getting his work done.

I chose darker colours to signify the darker theme of the song. I chose to represent the theme of being overwhelmed with a chase, where the main character is being chased by a masked person in the shadows. I chose images of drinking and smoking to show how the main character potentially deals with the problem by using substances, and the images of a person isolated and upset to show his reaction to his circumstances. I chose images of the objects, the ashtray and the drink to show the possibility of us shooting the video from a first person perspective, which would make it more unusual and different to most other videos.

The song we are going with is about feeling overwhelmed and eventually having to face the things you have been running away from, so my moodboard signifies some of those feelings while also at the end, taking a leap of faith, while it may be scary. I researched feelings and emotions and how colours can be attached to them, so I also think it would be a good idea to incorporate some of these colours to represent the feelings shown in both the video and the lyrics.

For my moodboard I thought of the themes of feeling overwhelmed and anxiety and what visuals I would use to portray them. I decided on a blue and grey toned colour palette, so the video would be shot around twilight or early evening. The images of the city could show how life moves very fast around you while one person could be stuck feeling overwhelmed and confused.
A shot of the empty bus stop could also convey anxiety and loneliness.
The sparklers and traffic lights would add a nice contrast to the theme and also the dark colours.
Lots of flickering and glitching effects could match the pace of the song.

My mood board was based more on the specific brainstorming ideas we had after our concept meeting. I used text art that I had previously developed for the artists, along with pictures I had taken previously that fit the light and aesthetic we spoke about using in our video. I added some location imagery and concept art that reflects the conflict and darkness seen in the lyrics along with some potential colour schemes for lighting.
